a japanese guy who made a bunch of creepy pasta videos a long time ago (you’ve probably seen Youtube666, he made that) is playing through minecraft for the first time and he’s not using any guides or anything other than the in-game guidebook and he’s fucking. doing it in such a buddhist way.
like, he’s so patient and detached from all of the stuff he’s gotten.
in the newest episode he destroyed 14566 blocks of bridge and blew up his original house just because he learned about xyz coordinates by accidentally pressing F5 and he wanted his house to be at the X:0 coordinate.

and it’s not like “HELLOOOOO EVERYBODY WHAT IS UP, TODAY WE’RE GONNA BE PLAYING MIIIIIINECRAAAAFT” he’s just like. a quiet 30 year old japanese man who speaks very precisely and politely. and he even does his own english captions which are overlayed on the video and he uses emoticons like (0u0)/
he’s so wonderful and cute.

i’ve been keeping track of piropito’s minecraft series since the beginning and i can promise you all 76 episodes and counting are well worth the watch because it’s incredible the LENGTHS this guy goes to learn and explore without help from others.
some highlights:
-spends literal HOURS upon HOURS building these long, seemingly endless bridges because he wants to reach “the ends of the earth”
-around episode 40, he’s learned the ins and outs of redstone but doesn’t realize you can sleep in your bed.
-the noises he makes when he’s afraid of enemies/dies are precious and gentle and not at all what you’d expect from a famous horror artist
-spends hours trading resources with villagers to get glass only to find out almost 50 episodes in that you can make glass from sand
-destroys several mountains of sand in the desert to not only fuel his love for glass, but also because “explosions are sugoi 0u0″
-sees a silverfish and
-builds a giant “machine” that runs on redstone, minecarts, and pistons that pushes colored sand through a massive glass window. it doesn’t do anything, it just pushes all the blocks to the bottom and breaks after a few minutes. piro seems very pleased with it.
-makes these complex shapes/structures in an attempt to create a nether portal, doesn’t realize it’s just a rectangle
-a fan made a skin just for him, complete with 0u0 face
-falls in lava multiple times, never gives up
-builds a giant coin pusher game for funsies

Ok I feel like everyone needs to know the story behind this dub.
This is Ghost Stories, and in the original Japanese it was a highly respected anime about traditional spirits, intense drama, and a mother’s love extending past death to aid her children lol who am I kidding it was about the depth of a kiddy pool and as dramatic as your average Scooby-doo spinoff.
It didn’t do too well in Japan, so the company wanted to get it dubbed to expand the audience and the profits for the show. America was in the middle of its early 2000′s anime boom, so shows that got dubbed were getting insanely popular left and right.
The problem was, nobody wanted poor little Ghost Stories. So the company started getting desperate in its pitches. At one point, they were basically saying “We’ll let you do anything you want with it if you’ll just take it”
And ADV films responded to that, OKAY.
They ended up with only three rules. They had to keep the characters’ names the same, for licensing. They had to keep the ghosts’ names the same, because they were traditional Japanese spirits. And they had to maintain a semblance of a plot. The rest was 100% improvised by the actors. The show ended up basically all like this video.
They originally wanted to redo the dub every few years, to keep up with current events and reference newer stuff, but budget never allowed for it.

so the best thing about this is that bobcats, like just about every feline besides lions and domestic cats, are pretty solitary. they don’t really have friends. they aren’t really equipped to make friends.
domestic cats, on the other hand, do know how to make friends. they are friendly to the point that lots of feral cats live in colonies— the females hang out together, even raise kids together, and the males like to spend nonsexual time with their baby mommas. they groom each other, play around, and have a particular tail position to signal to one another— straight up with the tip curled— that they’re friendly and happy to see each other. cats learned how to be chill with each other in order to take full advantage of human food sources: an ancient granary supplies enough rats for a lot of cats, as does a modern lady with a big bag of frisky bits, so it would be a waste of time and energy for any one cat to try and stake the entire foodsource out for exclusive use. less fighting means more eating and resting which means a longer, nicer life and a lot more kittens.
so this stray cat, she obviously has no colony if she’s wandering around and sneaking into zoo enclosures, so she’s like ‘hey! there’s food here! what up, other cat, let’s be friends, let’s be friends and share that food’. and the bobcat is like ‘??????’ because actually wild cats are pretty cautious about initiating hostilities and anything new and aggressive makes them very worried. and the domestic cat is like ‘haha cool, ok, we’re friends now, big guy. no problems.’ and the bobcat is like ‘????? well…?? ok?’ and then they are friends.
the super interesting thing about most wild cat species is they don’t really have the capacity to make friends on their own, especially outside of sibling bonds, but, if someone comes along and does all the friend-making themselves, they’ll totally roll with it. zoo cats can get really attached to their caregivers— or, in this case, a very confident little calico demonstrating exactly why her species has been so darn successful over the last nine thousand years .
so anyway that is the best thing: bobcats are not equipped to make friends, but luckily for this bobcat this homeless lady did not give any shits and made friends anyway. and now they are both happy.
Guys??? The person who made the original “How Far We’ve Come” Homestuck music video made an updated version with shots from Collide and Act 7 and it’s fuckign beautiful and I can’t believe I’ve never seen it before and I might be crygin a littelfbdg
