I
think he definitely has the potential to be the strongest of all the
Miracles! It is my personal theory (based on evidence in canon) that
Kise is most likely going to be the strongest of all the Miracles by
their Third Year, but he’s not fully there yet.
In
the first Touou game, Kasamatsu tells Imayoshi that Kise copies because
he’s still learning/growing, so it is my personal headcanon that
Kasamatsu, at least, all along believes that Kise had the most potential
out of the entire Generation of Miracles. And I feel like out of all
the Miracles in canon (not including Kuroko), Kise had the most “growth”
as a player, in terms of from when we first see him to where he is at
the end of Extra Game, he’s “leveled up” the most in terms of skill.
I
think by the time we see him in Extra Game he acquired all the skill he
needs to be the best, but he hasn’t fully mastered the ability to keep
playing at the level in a consistent way (thus his exhaustion at the end
of the game). So, I feel for sure, by Third Year, he will have that
down and potentially be the strongest.
Although
that doesn’t take into consideration the way everyone else might grow,
too. But those are just my thoughts! My personal thoughts/headcanons
that I incorporate in a lot of various things, but still just random
musings. Thank you so much for the lovely question, anon-friend!!
[Midorima Voice] Takao Kazunari??? what a fuckin’ nerd what a— [trips] [hundreds of thousands of photos of Takao spill out of jacket] w-what an asshole i these aren’t mine im just [gathering them up frantically sweating] listen i just listen fuck [thousands of pictures of Takao scatter across the floor] shit fuck im holding them for a friend just listen
(Part 2) feeling he gets around Midorima, something he’s never felt before, so he tries his best to ignore it for the time being. Meanwhile, with Takao being the only person to have bothered to get close and stay close to the eccentric green-haired giant, Midorima realizes his feelings first and pulls Takao aside one day after practice, when Cancer and Scorpio are at the top of the daily horoscope, and Midorima admits “I like you.” Takao doesn’t know what to say for a while, (…)
(Part 3) but it’s like the gears in his head click internally when he hears that, and he knows that, yeah, he likes this big green weirdo too. All he can manage as a response is a small nod of agreement though, and Midorima, relieved that his feelings are returned but also seeing that Takao is still processing things, pulls Takao into a soft hug and kisses the top of his head, before telling him to get the rickshaw ready so they can go home.
(Last part) They might end up holding hands a bit when they walk together after that day, but the rest of their team swears they’re just seeing things.
I have, anon-friend, thanks for asking! Although like I said in my last
post on Gold it’s mostly only gone to the extent of, “they’d both be
dating Furihata, and they all lived happily ever after, the end.”
And
really, it’s mostly been in conjunction with the AU to the AU (that I
am NOT!! going to write!!! As someone pointed out, it’s probably best
not to go down the route of writing the Darkest Timeline) that I’ve
discussed here about an AU where they didn’t escape when they were 13
and met up with the boyfriends while they were still in Teiko. And
woohoo, that is the Darkest Timeline and best not considered, really.
Although,
I do think it would be interesting if Gold *had* escaped with the rest
of the Miracles, because in does make me wonder if maybe Akashi would
have hated humans less if he hadn’t blamed them for Gold’s death. And if
Akashi had someone who grounded and supported him from the beginning,
what that might have done to the group dynamics.
It’s
also fun to think about Masaomi adopting them as twins. I think he’d
really enjoy having a son who could read minds and get premonitions.
(That would mean Gold was the only Miracle who didn’t have his color in
his last name, though. So maybe he gets adopted by someone else? Or
maybe he just decides to keep his gold-themed last name despite the
adoption, just to be contrary.)
In terms of
concluding “they’d both be dating Furihata” I did think it would make
sense that Gold actually pursues him first, because he would have
realized instantly that Furihata was immune (not being able to read his
mind) and probably would have approached him first. And while Akashi
might not have hated humans *as much* I always sorta figured Gold was
the more tolerant of the two, which would mean he’d be more interesting
in pursuing romance. Which is a fun thing to consider.
Also, @shortwhiteafrican brought up the fact that Kyo would completely lose his
mind at the idea of his little brother dating twin super rich athletic
gorgeous mutants, and I hadn’t even thought about that, and now that’s
all I can think about. I almost feel like this needs to happen purely so
Kyo can freak out over his previous baby brother dating murder twins.
(It’s still not going to happen, but it’s been so much fun to think
about).
