There’s only one Light of Creation, even if it’s collected multiple times. It’s called “the” Light of Creation, and the IPRE doesn’t end up with a cargo hold filled with incredibly powerful orbs of light. It’s always the same single piece of creation that slipped out of the creator’s hands fell out of place.
So what removes the Light from the IPRE or the Hunger when they get to a new world? Why is it always falling at the beginning of the year?
The story is linear. The IPRE’s perspective is linear. From the outside, it seems like one year in each world, happening one after the other and resetting the physical forms of the crew each time. But since each of these years happens in a separate dimension, consider: they’re happening simultaneously, in the same year.
The “reset” at the beginning of each year is not really a reset – the IPRE is returning to the beginning of the same year, at a different physical location. The Light always falls at the beginning of the year because it’s only just been misplaced; it’s gone when they reach a new location because it has to fall again, because the year is at the beginning again. The “one after the other” perspective of the crew isn’t wrong, it’s just a different way of ordering the experiences that is easier for the mind to understand. Seeing all of that happening at once would be devastating – it was devastating for Maureen, who saw all of those worlds at once and the one consistency between them.
There is still a century of experiences, but in a layered whole that’s only broken when the IPRE moves past that one year. They only had to restore the Light and defeat the Hunger on a single world to save them all, because all of these dimensions are connected: if there’s only one Light and only one Hunger, only one victory is needed.

Dear god, sleepy intimacy makes me so very happy.
One person sleeping with their head on the other person’s lap. Getting all drowsy-snuggly when they’re too tired to see straight. Being tucked in and kissed on the forehead before they pass out. Gentle touches while they drift off. Trusting the other person to watch over them and make sure nothing happens to them while they’re out.
Just… sleepy intimacy, man.
jesus and satan are the same guy in different hats
god created satan in order to have him rule the inferno, because he already had hell built and ready to go before the Fall. if we assume that jesus and satan are the same person, after suffering for centuries lucifer is allowed a chance to atone for his sins and becomes a human being, dying voluntarily on the cross in order to return to god’s side. this completes his penance (for the crime of sneaking out of hell to tempt humankind into falling from grace and being banished from eden.) the archangel gabriel is seated at the left hand of the father (god) and jesus/satan is seated at his right hand; essentially, humans were god’s project from the getgo, and so lucifer’s job was tormenting the damned, before there were even any damned, and gabriel’s job is, sort of, to punish the living. gabriel shares that role frequently with the archangel michael, who carries a flaming sword and is often depicted crushing serpents with his heel, like the virgin mary. the serpent here does not particularly represent jesus/satan, but rather the embodiment of the original sin.
if we accept this metanarrative, then the gospels become much more interesting. for example – it becomes obvious that jesus must have arranged for judas to betray him in advance, thus condemning himself to death and requiring judas to repent in the desert for the supposed betrayal (really a sacrifice of the self; judas gives up the companionship of the apostles, becomes a secret martyr for christ, etc) before he can rejoin christ in heaven. we are meant to understand that we are all judas, and in doing so, understand that the holiest of men can still be liars. we are begged to consider that perhaps the scriptures themselves are littered with lies, inserted here and there by translators and monarchs. in fact, the actions and life of judas iscariot become a sort of pageant for the fall and redemption of christ/satan; judas becomes the most christlike of the apostles.
