not really, because they describe and talk about different things about a person
MBTI focuses on the sort of functions for how you take in, or use or process information, its more of a, how your brain currently likes to do things described as different functions like introverted sensing, or introverted feeling, or extroverted sensing, or extroverted thinking and etc in different orders, combinations and pairs, its how you think about and view things, which sounds like it could be connected to classpect on the surface
but the difference lies in this: MBTI can change over time as your functions grow and develop, and even your type may change over time based on how you grow and develop these 8 different functions and how you use them the best, or which pairs or ‘loops’ you use more, but its based always on your current form of what you are now
Classpect is never really about the current self, a lot of people assume this tho which is where i think the association with MBTI comes from, but really Classpect is about what you WANT to become, rather than what you are currently
God tiering is supposed to be a journey of growth and discovery, and the god tier itself is like this end goal post that you want to achieve in the future that describes not just “you” but the best version of you, you at your greatest, achieving your best, being the best you that ever could be by achieving what you want to achieve out of life
so its more, MBTI is place you are currently in your journey, Classpect is the End Goal Post
so trying to decide a god tier based on the MBTI I think is not accurate way to do it, simply for the fact that they are describing different parts of a person that may or may not be the same
like, its not set in stone that who you are now is who you will want to be, in fact its more likely that who you are now wont be exactly like the person that you wish to become eventually (tho it can happen with people who’ve had their life together since kindergarten, and dont really have much of a journey of self discovery as a sidewalk of self discovery lol)

it honestly can actually, because MBTI describes your way of doing things, your personality, and people’s personalities can in fact change over long periods of time, our brains have plasticity/we aren’t stagnant and etc
MBTI explains this though as you developing your different inferior functions, instead of just your dominant ones
heres the problem with that though: there are 16 types based on the order of only 4 out of 8 functions, some types share all of the same functions, but simply in a different order of strength, so what happens when for example an INTJ who has (Ni> Te> Fi> Se) and happens to develop/change/grow over time so that their Se is stronger than their Fe? or their Fi stronger than their Ni? and now their order of functions is Fi > Se > Ni > Te? which is the order of functions for an ISFP?
Did they develop fully as an INTJ? or did they become an ISFP? are you doomed to be forever immature and unable to grow with inferior functions or can you change your type over time? how can you tell them apart if an already fully developed person takes an MBTI test? How can you determine the difference based only on their behavior alone? you can’t, you have to use some sort of measurable data
which brings up the other problem that nobody really brings up, which is that none of MBTI is based on any sort of observable real world data based on any of the functions, theres no actual data, theres no brains scans showing clearly that “this brain is a sensor vs an intuitor” you cannot tell because it isnt grounded in the physical reality of the brain, unlike mental illness or conditions of the brain, or things like sociopathy, which you can actaually see physical differences in the brains that reflect the observable differences
Instead Its all based on a person’s personal observations of people’s behavior and theorized classifications of behaviours, its all purely outside observations, no internal data. Its a theoretical framework that has yet to be proven, or connected to physical reality

yeah, they’re very encouraged to toxic rivalry, distrust and only thinking your quadrants and those affecting them (so, quadrant corners, MAYBE) are relevant (THANKS DOC SCRATCH), so i’m really feeling the parallel to toxic masculinity. i mean, vriska and eridan are acting like their behavior is the epitome of a cool, admirable troll. and terezi was destroyed after she killed vriska, even though she felt she wasn’t supposed to be. like. dude. the whole alternia setup is trying its best to create an army, not a coherent people. no intergenerational bonding, and the only parallel bonds allowed are romantic ones and tons of propaganda about their glorious empire. it’s way easier to make people feel like everyone (else) is disposable like that.
For those who don’t remember the Dark Times, at the height of its popularity, Homestuck
had spawned several fan-created AUs that were, themselves, popular
enough that people unconnected to their creators would write fanfic set
in them, cosplay as the AU versions of various characters, and so forth. It
got to the point that some of the most well-established AUs had
separate mini-fandoms made up of folks who’d never actually read Homestuck proper, and were in it just for that AU.

a high school AU in which the Beta kids and Alternian trolls were all members of a school marching band. (The Alpha kids and Beforan trolls don’t feature

Why does this description sound like some kind of post-modern Hitchhiker’s Guide kind of prose?
Trying to explain fringe fandom as a cultural phenomenon in a way that would be comprehensible to a reader who’s coming in with no prior context is just like that. Seriously, try to explain, say, Ke$hastuck in a manner that would make sense to the uninitiated without sounding like an alien anthropologist struggling to make sense of human society in the process.

The dreamers of Prospit become the dreamers of Derse and vice versa? Nothing else changes. Just the fact that they dream on different moons.

can you imagine if John had been a Derse kid and actually kinda, like, designed as a Derse kid – like can you just imagine the very silly but startlingly relatable thirteen year old angst????? the secondhand embarrassment that would just emanate from a Derse John????

Possible other ideas for your consideration:
Rose who, instead of being obsessed with what lays in the dark, is enamored with the Light. She’s still snarky and has that Lalondian attitude we all know and love, but she’s a lot less obtuse, less “scary”, more obviously friendly but there’s still a thousand gears going inside her mind.
She will dance circles around you linguistically and there’s a chance that compliment there was meant to poke fun at you but that’s alright.
Instead of going grimdark, she does the opposite: a blazing witch filled with the wrath of Skaia. The trolls’ don’t experience a blackout so much as an overload. A holy warrior that will stop at nothing to destroy Jack for killing her mother.
Seer ==> Ask: “Is Skaia really good?”
Dave hides his insecurities behind a facade of being a generally friendly guy. He’s nice, he’ll talk to you about your troubles, how you feel, what he’s having for lunch; literally anything but himself. The subject of Dave Strider is a conversational topic locked in a vault deep in Fort Knot, submerged in the Bermuda Triangle, and without a key.
Dream-wise, his shades and music are keeping out the constant flood of light and imagery from Skaia. The war going on underneath the planet, the visions from the clouds; it’s all too much. Knowing his future is hard enough as a time player. Knowing other peoples’ futures? He can’t take that pressure. He doesn’t want that burden.
He likes Prospit well enough? It makes him kinda uncomfortable what with how everyone praises him and treats him like the best thing since sliced bread. He has enough attention while awake, he just wants to dream alone.
Jade is a master of political schemes. Her grandpa is surprised by how clever and deceitful she can be despite being totally innocent. He’s proud at what he calls her ‘innate hunter skills’, she can even sneak up on him when he’s not expecting it!
Jade is mostly the same as canon, but she’s a little more mysterious. Unlike Prospit!Jade who’s very bad at hiding what she knows about the game, Derse!Jade has a great poker face, and knows how to hide her hand. She does it all for her friends’ benefit, of course, she just doesn’t want them to bite off more than they can chew.
She met the Queen once. Well, not so much met as much as I accidentally stumbled upon her throne room oh my god please tell me she didn’t see me. She didn’t. But it taught Jade to be very careful
She treats the horrorterrors like Feferi does. Sweet, kind, and friendly once you get to know them. But she also knows how dangerous they can be. She respects them, asks for help only when needed, and keeps a polite distance.
John just kinda shrugs off most of the weird bits of being a Derse dreamer. Whisperings of horrorterrors? K, that’s cool, he’ll just ignore you. Assassination attempts? Lol, good luck next time, here’s a whoopie cushion for your efforts. (He doesn’t even kill them like Dirk did, he just. Pranks them til they leave in disgrace.) Dark and heavy atmosphere? He carries a flashlight.
His attitude is mostly the same, thanks to his blessed ability to shrug things off and focus on the now, but if it’s at all possible, I think he becomes a bit more serious. Not scarily so, but more akin to his attitude later in the comic, with how he called Aradia (and Terezi) out for their ridiculous actions. A bit of a straight man to the weird things that happens in Sburb.
Okay but consider. His comedy routine being as finely tuned as Rose’s linguistic stunts. He’s the thing keeping his friends (and troll onlookers) happy and entertained, a bit of a distraction from the general strangeness of it all.
I totally went overboard with this but I love this AU, it’s gold.

Has anyone yet thought about Derse Jake tho. I feel like maybe there’s this entire dimension to Derse Jake where he’s almost exactly the same person but instead of being just earnest about it he’s ironically earnest and genuinely earnest at the same time. Metamodern Jake English. Holy shit.

considering his “simultaneously awake” thing, his “will do anything to help/protect his friends” thing, and prospit’s predictive clouds im guessing a LOT of cloudwatching and a lot of Lil Hal-like manipulation (but maybe less shitty)
think jade with all her reminders but more effective since he can immediately switch to the waking world and act NOW instead of having to wait until he wakes up.
im thinking he’d have a lot more convoluted plans like the one that got them all into the game alive in canon
