whenever im looking through god tier title tags on tumblr i come across people’s self-insert sburb ocs (no hate here, why do you think im in the tags in the first place?) and im like…your guys’ strife specibus ought to be knifekind, unless you can give a plausible reason for gunkind, tbh.
like, pick an actual goddamn weapon for your strife specibus! i dont care what rose or vriska did, use an actual fucking weapon!! and how many of us actually had swords and spears and guns easily available for kids in our childhood homes? very few of us im willing to bet. meanwhile in literally everyones kitchens are some bigass butcher knives that are halfway to being swords themselves to a small teenager.
anyway, the moral of the story is: if we all played sburb, we would all be knifekind users, except for the USians who lived in the country, who would be shotgunkind.
Aries: An empire of fire and salt water. Fertile island fortresses patrolled by many-armed stone sentinels wielding golden flamberges. Rivers of fire spilling into the sea.
Taurus: An empire of honey and snow. Castles that stand as decadent art. Colossal ghostly spirit foxes watch over forests of cherry trees.
Gemini: An empire of rain and silk. Glittering iridescent cloaks and wide brimmed straw masks. The aqueducts flow ever deeper into the mountains.
Cancer: An empire of time and woodlands. Citadels of fossilized lumber strong as any metal. Old rusted weapons jut from the grass like weeds.
Leo: An empire of roses and bridges. Subtle stonework hewn rough by ages of wear. Stone blossoms wilting as the season passes.
Virgo: An empire of tombs and amber. The spires of the great necropolis are visible over the labyrinth walls, as kongamato patrol the skies.
Libra: An empire of sand and glass. The libraries of a thousand cities stolen, collected in the grand archives. A library of libraries.
Scorpio: An empire of blood and stars. Nothing is left of this great people, but their decedents know their history well. Spilling blood on the great story-stones that dot the overgrowth brings whispers of the past.
Ophiuchus: An empire of wind and hooves. Steeds like a thunderstorm, heavy and dark. Leaving only nursing trees and pillars to the dead in their wake.
Sagittarius: A landless empire of wanderers. Cloaks of feathers and ritual smoke. Comfortable boots and hospitality, though they are the guests.
Capricorn: An empire of stories and loss. Ruins buried under ice, unseen for generations.
Aquarius: An empire of brass and coal. The corpses of war machines that now dot the landscape. Rusted green in the autumn rains.
Pisces: A sunken empire. Pillars of shining black salt break the waves, the deeper recesses of the grand palace lie sodden and unexplored.

I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could be able to translate these abstract lands and draw them connect them to each troll of homestuck. The idea was to make them pretty quickly in a day, but the more I did, the more details I put into the next drawing, so the first one is almost a sketch and the last one is way much cleaner. In the end I did six or seven in a day and lost the interest for a month, until yesterday I decided to finish it.
My favorite is Kanaya, it was quite difficult to understand and the amber labyrinth took me quite some time to make
I hope you like them, it was quite fun to make them
🙂
I cant believe someone wrote something with lands empires of ____ and ____ WITHOUT the original being homestuck
THE QUALITY OF THIS ART OVERPOWERS MY DISTASTE FOR HOMESTUCK
Terezi who’s well aware that she stopped growing at six sweeps and is 4’11 (150cm), but isn’t going to bring up her height if nobody else is: “Shortest person has to vacuum the meteor! That’s you Karkat!”
Karkat who accepted that he would always be the shortest when he was six sweeps old and doesn’t realize he’s 6’10 (208cm) and still growing: THATS NOT FAIR. YOU GUYS CANT SAY THAT EVERYTIME WE NEED TO GET SOMETHING DONE!
Oh, just so folks know, that thing where some Homestuck character tags have randomly been assigned nsfw is also still a thing, with the current crop of Tumblr issues.
Currently you can’t use Tumblr search for Equius Zahhak, Aradia Megido, Signless, or Dualscar.
For Equius, Tumblr suggests “Homestuck Equius”. You can search Sufferer. No version of Aradia’s name is available at all.
Porrim Maryam and Horuss Zahhak are also right out.
Why them? Who knows. It used to be Kanaya Maryam was blocked. But now that you can’t fix it by turning safe mode off under most circumstances, it would seem that this site is of limited use to this fandom.
i can say i’m not that invested in homestuck anymore all i want but the truth is, you either have never been a homestuck or are a homestuck, there is no undoing what has been done.
you think you’re a free man but then you play deltarune and suddenly your homestuck brain awakes from its fake slumber and as it points out to you that toby fox just made a spades bucket joke, you know from the very depths of your soul that you can never be free.
I just fucked up in the latest walkaround draft and called dirk’s shades komaeda shades instead of Kamina shades but now Gill won’t let me change it
Absolutely not. Consider, please, Jake innocently assuming the proper name for Dirk’s choice of eyewear is “Komaeda shades” and he goes around calling them that. Dirk *knows* this is incorrect. He *knows* what mistake is being made. However, if he ever corrects Jake, even once, he will be rebranded as a weeb and the stink of Anime Nerd will follow him no matter how many infinite showers he takes.
I can’t believe I summoned the ghost of Dangan Ronpa despite it not even existing in 2009
For some reason I had the idea that SBURB will try to kill any extraneous people who get brought along into the game. Not supposed to be here, don’t need you messing around, die and get out of the way. Presumably this impression is from the beta session, but that was Bec Noir, and there is nothing normal about Bec Noir even by SBURB standards.
What SBURB tries to do with extraneous people is throw them in jail on Derse. Keep them out of the way, but offer them to the successful player as a bonus reward.
Now that I’ve thought of this it seems incredibly obvious.
