I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHY THIS HAPPENS. You see this all the time when there’s a fight or a scrum and suddenly everyone pairs up with a member of the opposite team and they just sort of …hold each other.
Someone on reddit asked about it. And it turns out there’s a logical-ish reason:
all of the other players pair off with their man to prevent anyone else entering into the fight … so it’s a form of self policing.
[…] The players basically want to prevent 2 on 1, etc. fights and by finding a “hugging” partner so there’s no ganging up on one guy, even on accident. They do it because it’s fair. And it’s kind of cute sometimes.
Blackhawks are bad morally, employ trash (Patrick Kane) and use said trash for their poster child though he’s (physically and sexually) violent and racist (also the NHL loves this guy because he’s American), their logo is racist, and they alienate their female fans more so than most other teams do.
Two years ago a guy, Andrew Shaw, (who is now with the Canadiens) played for the Blackhawks and used a gay slur on the ice in playoffs and was caught on camera saying it, and he’s said it multiple times without the audio picking it up.
Their goalie, Corey Crawford, also has a mask painted to resemble a chief’s headdress and people told him it was racist because he isn’t Native American or First Nations and he basically said deal with it.
The NHL loves them because they won 3 cups in 6 seasons and they can do no wrong, apparently.
In the past two years, they haven’t made it to conference finals and last year they got beat in playoffs without a single win and the goalie for the Nashville Predators had more points in three games than their roster did (goalies rarely get points).
They think they’re hot shit but they’re really just shit.
