Is it impossible for a Dragon a Ball character to be an atheist, given that they all know for a fact that God exists and his name is Dende and he’s green? Or is it impossible for a Dragon Ball character to be anything OTHER than an atheist, because they know these things about God, and also know that most of them could beat him up, and that he has social anxiety and is pretending to be busy so he doesn’t have to talk to Goku?

Like: imagine that you know for a fact that sometimes God can’t hear your prayers, because he’s in his room, stressing out over something he said last month that he thinks might have hurt “Mr. Satan”’s feelings. Does the possession of this harrowing knowledge make you an atheist?

Are Dragon Ball characters atheists if they don’t “believe in” Dende in the sense that they don’t respect him as a person? Like, Dende decides to do something hard, and Gohan says “you can do it, I believe in you!” and Vegeta says “ehhh.” Does this attitude make Vegeta an atheist? Does Dende’s social anxiety make Dende an atheist

i don’t dragon ball so i don’t know who captain mullet there is but from what i’ve seen of dragon ball he probably can block a nuke because don’t they routinely punch the tops off mountains on that show

saitama is basically a dragon ball character transplanted into a less hilariously OP world and he’s like “why can i punch out mountains it takes the challenge out of everything”

Thesis: the men in Dragon Ball are so ridiculously buff because they’re overcompensating for the fact that dressing up in brightly coloured uniforms and flying around shooting lasers at bad guys is a traditionally feminine pastime.

Alternatively: the reason that Goku screams and shoots golden fire out of his arse when he goes Super Saiyan is precisely to remind people that this is a manly transformation sequence. Grr!

The number of dudes who think this is a serious post and are offended by it is frankly a little concerning.

I just really find the fact that the creator of dragonball has stated that Goku canonically cannot feel any kind of love, just ‘companionship’, to be a extremely interesting fact. Like, if his family died he’d be like ‘No!’ and then he’d get over it fairly quickly as if they were only just acquaintances. Same goes with the rest of his friends.

The series creator apparently doesn’t like the anime’s portrayal of Goku. They always cast Goku as a hero, when in the manga he’s really only ‘saving people’ as a side bonus that comes with fighting a stronger opponent. He doesn’t purposefully go in to save anyone unless there is a fight happening at the scene.

So, If Goku hadn’t hit his head, he would’ve just been another Raditz. And it also explains why he’s rather cruel towards Gohan and neglectful towards Chichi.

Apparently Vegeta is the actual exception to his own species. He actually genuinely loves his family, -a rare trait only Goku’s mother was proven to have- whereas Goku is apparently literally unable to have those feelings. It’s kind of ironic; Vegeta is probably the one that would be the most ashamed and resentful to admit he has those kinds of feelings.
