“this (insert some mixture of potato, cheese, and garlic) recipe is a perfect side dish!”

look let’s just be honest with each other up front, you know I’m gonna eat that shit entirely by itself in mass quantities as a meal. let’s not pretend like I’m some actual responsible adult who believes I need more than cheese, potatoes, and garlic to survive. this is the life I’ve chosen to live. now tell me how to double the recipe

So a quick search on Tineye got me the source of this image (seriously, folks, if you see an unattributed piece of art please use Google Image Search and Tineye to at least *try* to find the artist.) It’s the cover to the 1997 hardcover edition of “Curses Inc. and Other Stories”, a fiction anthology edited by Vivian Vande Velde in 1997. I can’t find any info on the artist, but I bet you dollars to doughnuts someone stole the art from their website and that’s how it got floating around the internet. Used copies start at $1.65 on Amazon, so hey–now you get the bonus of knowing there’s an awesome witchy fic anthology out there, too.

Also, the 1997 publication date totally explains the beige computer with an A: drive.

haha i owned this book. i loved Vivian Vande Velde. one of the few people writing good YA fantasy pre-HP.

hey @thegreenwolf and others, the artist is Tristan Elwell (you can check the copyright in the backflap of the book on Amazon to confirm) this artist actually did a lot of recognizable work on YA novels.
