One of the more singular fic-reading experiences: it has your otp, and interesting concepts, and the writing is solid, and the characters are not how you see them but close enough and interesting, and there’s no real problem except you completely disagree with the underlying philosophy
Bernice King, the daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King and Coretta King, posted this on her Facebook page.
look, if anyone knows how to do this, she does.
btw, another reason to blame the republicans rather than lord dampnut himself is that he will obviously do and say anything that gets him attention and money. he has no actual political beliefs. so where’s he getting these ideas? don’t let people think it will stop if he gets impeached; it’ll slow down, because pence knows enough to make sure his executive orders have at least a thin veneer of legality, but itll be the exact same shit sandwich on a cleaner plate.
"Shuutoku is the team you need in order to win, right?
So basically, the fact that we became teammates must be fate."
Shut up Takao, you know nothing. Your monolgue is delusional and you undervalue your own importance. Midorima will go back to practising all by himself? Sorry, but every time we see him practice you’re right there with him and in his future flashback it’s even implied that you always stay behind alongside him. And he’s irritating? You’re the one who keeps waiting for him and going to find him whenever you’re separated, and insists he spends more time with you. Though to be fair, that’s completely mutual.
You’re the one who’s always by his side and you’re the one who shows most understanding of who he is. You’re the one who’s always smiling around him and proving that you know what he’s really thinking when he’s being dishonest. You’re the one who respects his boundaries and you’re the one who knows when you can push more, and you’re the one who became his partner, and showed him what teamplay is all about. You’re the one whose passes always reaches him.
So stop with this nonsenses that Kuroko was the one to change Midorima. Without you it wouldn’t have happened even if he lost to teamwork. It was thanks to you that he could rely on his team mates and it was you who taught him trust.
You’re only fooling yourself with monologues like these.

Worth the Effort [KiKasa]
The main reason Kise Ryouta was so bored with his life was that he never had to try for anything. He couldn’t help but consider everything he gained so effortlessly a little bit worthless, or at least completely uninteresting. His fans were a faceless mass that stroked his ego just fine, sure, but he never bothered to really appreciated them. His job seemed to be everything one could ever dream of, but to Ryouta it was just a job – boring, tedious, passionless duty.
So no one could really blame him for desperately clutching to basketball and the Generation of Miracles, the only things he ever had to try for. He didn’t pester Kurokocchi just for the sake of it; Kuroko made him work for his friendship and Ryouta was seduced by the idea of effort. He didn’t admire Aominecchi just because he was amazing; he set the bar so high that Ryouta couldn’t help but strive to reach it, no matter what.
His Kaijou teammates weren’t much in comparison to Teikou. Ryouta wasn’t ashamed of looking down on them at first; only much later. That’s why he acknowledged Kagamicchi – he was the first one to prove to Ryouta that high school wasn’t going to be boring or depressing just because his old team had split up like a cheap boyband. He was the one to show Ryouta there was still so much to discover and fight for.
And there was Ryouta’s captain.
A note from the Indivisible Team
A note for all of us who feel defeated after Sessions from the Indivisible Team: This is the long game. We are going to lose a lot. We are going to get good at losing. We are going to lose cabinet votes for terrible nominees. We are going to lose bills that are offensive and appalling. But while we are losing, something else is going to happen. We are going to keep raising our voices and slowly our representatives are going to start listening to us. We’ve seen it happen.
It won’t happen because of next week’s call to action. It’ll happen over months, where you keep showing up, regularly. Then, we are going to start winning. It’ll sneak up on us. We won’t understand why we are winning. But it starts with losing in a particular way- where we raise our voices and call it out when we aren’t listened to, where we get close but not quite there.
The first 100 days of a President’s term are the honeymoon period, the moment when he’s most likely to get his agenda enacted. Trump is spending his first 100 days mired in controversy, scandal, and backbiting – and that’s because you haven’t for a moment let anyone in Washington forget just how unpopular he is.
Every time we change the narrative, every time we delay, every time there’s a newspaper story about a member of Congress avoiding his or her constituents, that’s a win. And it matters.
You have already made history. You’ve delayed the confirmation of Trump’s cabinet picks longer than any time in recent history. You stopped the gutting on the congressional ethics office. You’ve made Republicans so nervous about the repeal of the Affordable Care Act that it’s been pushed further and further down the road. You caused an uproar of historic proportions over Trump’s Muslim ban and saved lives and reunited families in the process. You’ve inspired people who have never before taken action to make their voices heard and learn how to do things like check how their members of Congress voted and call them out for it.
We’ll never even know about some of the victories – because those will be the fights that this Administration considered starting and then realized it couldn’t win.
We’re in this together. Every visit. Every call. Every loss. Every win. That’s just what friends do. #StandIndivisible
In solidarity,
The Indivisible Team
Who wants to hear how I rekted a straight boys ego in gym class today? Because in really fucking proud rn
*is waiting*
*cracks knuckles* okay nerds listen the fuck up.
So I’m in a special gym class for the swim team, so it’s coed with the boys and girls swim team for my school. It’s leg day, and I was setting up my rack for squats. Now I don’t usually go hard in gym because I don’t fucking care and I’m a 3 season athlete, I don’t actually need extra fuxking exercise. I only put maybe 10 pounds on the bar, and this fucking twig looking punk ass comes from fucking nowhere and starts laughing. Mind you I’m taller than fucking everyone in this class, I towered over this twerp. I ask him why he’s laughing, and he says, WITH A STRAIGHT FACE, “Women are so weak” and I almost decked his ass right then but I bite my tongue. For no fucking reason he decided to continue, “Why are women even in sports, they can’t do anything! What’s your max, 50 pounds?” And all his friends are laughing and telling him how cool this he is. So I challenge him to a squatting challenge, I want to see how much weight he can squat. He’s all reluctant now, saying how that wasn’t safe for me, how I might hurt myself, but my swim coach comes from behind and says she would like to see it so he’s like “Fine, whatever, if you get hurt it ain’t my fault.”
He proceeds to put fucking 100 pounds on, my ass is trying not to laugh because wow that’s “a lot”, and the whole time he is struggling, groaning and making gross ass male noises, and only got 4 reps in. He sets it back on the rack and looks at me with this fucking smirk, surrounded by his douche group, and omg I’m about to just drop kick his ass, and he does that stupid hand motion towards the rack.
I walk over and my team members ask me how much I want. I tell them to double it. Everyone stops and my coach is smiling cause she knows how much I can squat. My teammates are like “… Are you sure?” And I tell them how I’m fucking ready. So they put 100 more pounds on, making it now 200 pounds, and I tell them to back off. I then walk over and add 50 more pounds, the whole time looking at this white trash. He looks like a dead man, crusty lookin ass about to pass out. The bar now has 250 pounds, and I get 15 reps in. I set it down and I walk up to him, not having broken a sweat, and just pat him on the cheek before continuing on with my workout. My teammates are all freaking out, telling me how cool that was and how they never knew, but the boys team looks like they’re going to cry. I’m really fucking sore but I regret nothing. That’s the story how I went up in weight for my squat with the pure determination of breaking up fuckbois dreams @ask-elizabeth-holly-hamilton
Okay I was looking back on this because we were maxing today and my coach said that wasn’t my max and I’m like??? What, and I realized I never accounted for the bar, so that makes total weight was 295.
op casually forgot to count almost the same amount noodle man could manage to squat, feel the burn dudebro
