You end up making good stuff by making a bunch of bad stuff, which is why everybody who’s blocked, the reason they’re blocked is because they are committing the cardinal sin of assuming their job is to make something good. You’ll never make that. Your definition of good will change as you get better. It will always be something you’re not capable of. Whereas you know you can make something that sucks. You live in terror of it. So, do that. You’re also a very critical person. You’re very critical of your own work, other people’s work. So make something that sucks and then criticize it, and fix it. That is a much better way to get something done than this idea that, you know, you’re gonna use your brain, which is so special, you’re gonna make all the right choices ‘cause you’re such a great, great person.
Ok but why don’t people understand there is a difference between nightblogging and shitposting??
nightblogging is like “What if apples screamed when we bit them?”

nightblogging has more of a focus on theoreticals, especially in stating absurd thoughts in normal ways. think the kind of stuff your best friend says to you at a sleepover at 3 am after the lights have gone out and neither of you have slept in 20 hours or more– a “what if” question isn’t unsual in and of itself, but the unreal subject matter (apples screaming when you bite them) makes it funny. shit posting is more often the opposite, stating normal things in ways that make them absurd. “a crisp one dollar bill” isn’t funny or unusual, but replacing “dollar” with the absurdist internet word “donger” is what makes it funny & thus a shitpost. it’s not necessarily that one is more coherent, but that they’re differentiated both by form and by lexicon. nightblogging is surrealism, shitposting is dada

But it does contain the phrase “promote the general welfare”
Declaration of Independence does.
“Promote” does not mean “Provide”.
Also, general welfare, not individual welfare.
Declaration of Independence is not the founding document of our Government, the founding document of our government does include this interesting part though,
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion (x)
The recognition of “God” is the government respecting monotheistic religions, which is also why you will not find it once in the Constitution.
Also, I am opposed to individual welfare, such as corporate tax cuts, bailouts and the like. I firmly support general welfare, such as a Universal Basic Income and Single Payer Healthcare.
General welfare is the welfare of the union not the individual people.
Since this is confusing to you, let’s look at it in context:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
If you notice, the people of the United States are declaring that that would like a few things:
Form a more perfect union
Provide for the common defense
Promote the general welfare
Secure liberty
Because of those reasons, We the Peopled are establishing a Constitution.
The people are trying to promote their general welfare is the literal meaning of that statement. They also want to have a more perfect union, but that hasn’t been established yet, so asking to promote the welfare of a union that does not yet exist is rediculous.
The general welfare is the aggregate of individual welfare. Look at the median. If there’s thousands of people one bad break away from starvation but a couple hundred who could bankrupt a Fortune 500 company and walk away with most of their houses, that’s still not a good General Welfare.
The union is made up of individual people, how can someone be this dense, it’s like the most privileged dehumanizing thing ever just because they don’t like the idea of sharing.
you would think that Shiro would be a little more…cautious around Keith after learning that he is part Galra.
I mean the Galra tortured him-For a year , took his arm – a part of himself,replaced it, and now it serves as a constant reminder.
They made him do things so horrible he was referred to as a monster…
Even Allura, the diplomat that she is, the peaceful altean, Allura who has done nothing but try to get the paladins together since they met,
Allura who recognized and acknowledged Keith as the amazing pilot that he is, who got to know Keith for the person he is, started to hate and resent him after learning that he is part galra.
When Kolivan is talking to allura, to try to get her to see that not all Galra are bad…well as bad as Zarkon, she turns and looks at Keith and says “I hope so”.
This really stood out to me. That Allura would look at Keith and “hope” that not all Galra are bad, as if he could turn at any moment. As if he was someone she couldnt trust, as if he has changed.
It’s understandable of course, the Galra killed her family and destroyed her home
but then there’s Shiro Not giving a fuck
He’s been tortured, dismembered, and mentally attacked by the Galra, but he still sees Keith for who he is.
and I think that’s beautiful
Don’t you think Shiro would understand better than anyone else that the Galra blood that’s running through Keith’s veins is not what defines his best friend?
Shiro spent the entire first season thinking himself a monster because of his Galra arm and the influence Zarkon had over him. He fought that alone. Would you want to see your best friend take on such a heavy and hard realization alone?
It definitely takes a really strong mind and heart to be accepting of something like this, and it’s also incredibly mature and important–to be able to see past your own experiences and feel sentiment for another person and support them going through a situation that would otherwise be traumatizing to you. But we’ve always known how strong Shiro is, how mature and level-headed he is when things get hairy.
If this wasn’t clear enough, Shiro and Keith’s relationship–and especially Shiro’s response to all of this–is a shining example of fighting racism and prejudice.
I’ll admit I had my own concerns and doubts leading up to S2 about how Shiro might deal with Keith being of Galran descent, but looking back now, we didn’t really have much to worry about. ❤
