I’m breaking my rule about posting Ngozi’s tweets on tumblr just this once because these Jan 26, 2015 tweets were the ones originally cited as sources on the wiki, but appear to no longer be readable.

I’ve been so fixated on why the wiki says Holster has 3 sisters when the source tweets (Jan 26/15) only list two potential names. And FINALLY I found confirmation from the earlier October 5, 2014 that he indeed only has TWO sisters.

So, apologies to Ngozi for screen-capping your tweets. I only intended to use them for fic references but this one issue has been irritating me for absolutely no real reason and I really wanted to show some proof. I promise I won’t do it again.

(also, we know that Chowder at least has one sister, so I’m guessing the “no one else has siblings” was excluding the frogs at this point)

and dex has at least one brother

CORRECTION: I unearthed a tweet last night about the frogs that rocked my entire world. Frog siblings!!!!! (It was a reply to someone that only came up when I searched “Nursey”) Behold!!!

Chowder – 1 sister
Dex – 1 older brother (and that seems to be it!!)
Nursey – 1 older sister

I’m assuming from context that Chowder’s sister is younger, since Ngozi purposely states Dex and Nursey’s siblings are older. Also, we know Chowder was born while his parents were still studying at Samwell, and I think them both getting doctorates while raising two kids might be a little too much.

I always accepted that Dex has a lot of siblings… Where do I go from here? (I’m super psyched that Nursey has a sister tho. Wha~!?)

The only mystery remaining are whether Parson or Duan siblings exist…

I might need to make a separate post that condenses everything I’ve learned from Twitter. Seriously. Amazing. I live for family details.

ok but I’m so in awe of the fact that in this new extra we just saw a misunderstanding with people thinking Dex hates something when in reality he likes it, he’s just kind of puzzled by it because I can’t stop thinking about that one set of tweets with him asking about the “one in four maybe more” thing and everyone thinking he was homophobic.

How often does this happen to him? I think we can infer pretty easily from these two incidents alone that Dex just has a very angry face and on top of that doesn’t know how to respond to things and other people don’t understand him. is the smh starting to get this? They obviously like him now, so they must not think he’s homophobic anymore, but is that because they think they taught him better, or did they realize they misinterpreted his response? They clearly still don’t fully understand his facial expressions because they just thought, again, that he hated something he doesn’t

and what I’m trying to get at here is that to Nursey, who has demonstrated an inability to correctly understand Dex’s reactions on multiple occasions, it’s an established fact that Dex doesn’t like Nursey.

Look at the pattern – Dex seems to have a problem with gay people but the fandom thinks he’s gay. Dex seems to hate fixing things but finds it rewarding.

Dex seems to hate Nursey. Dex loves Nursey?

The problem is that Sanders’s vision — and the vision of Perez and the DNC — as they laid it out this week, looked less like a radical transformation of the Democratic Party and more like a return to mistakes the party has made in the past. These mistakes have nothing to do with economic equality, and everything to do with a willingness to sacrifice the rights of much of the party’s base.

Sanders is wrong that reproductive rights (or gay rights, for that matter) are separate from economic issues. The ability to control reproduction is central to women’s social, professional, and economic stability, and the women most likely to require abortion services and to be negatively affected by restrictions on access to reproductive health care are poor and low-income women, disproportionately women of color.

But he and Perez were also wrong to view compromising on abortion as part of a pragmatic political path forward and to hold up an aggressively anti-abortion Democrat as some exemplar of progressivism’s future. Heaps of contemporary polling shows abortion is not the divisive issue it was long assumed to be. In 2015, polls showed that seven in ten voters, including independents — and even in Kansas — not only supported safe and accessible abortion but were willing to vote based on that support. A postelection Pew study found support for Roe to be at 69 percent, an all-time high. Omaha, the city where Heath Mello is running for mayor, was carried by Clinton — who made the most full-throated case for reproductive rights ever offered by a presidential candidate in her final debate against Donald Trump — by eight points. (For the record, Mello released a statement on Thursday claiming that, “While my faith guides my personal views, as Mayor I would never do anything to restrict access to reproductive health care,” which is a lovely sentiment, except for the fact that as state senator he literally did do lots to restrict access to reproductive health care.)

There is absolutely no need to abandon women’s rights in the name of advancing progressive politics. And yet the party has done it time and again, often after losing presidential elections.

anyways let’s talk about whiskey

chillpleasecheckplease:

and how his first semester of college has been so, so hard for him.

He comes from a big family, one where he’s never alone but still understands his introversion, and knows that he’s content just sitting in the corner and observing.

His hockey team was his happy place, filled with teammates and nothing more, no complicated friendships.

Now, he’s hundreds of miles away from his family. Now, instead of hockey practices being quiet, filled with only calls to pass the puck and comments from coaches; they’re raucous, filled with laughter and inside jokes he’s always on the outside of.

The team hates him for not hanging out with them, he knows this. He can sense it, their silent judgement and side-eyes even as he raises an eyebrow in return and tries to act strong, like it doesn’t bother him. It does.

He can’t tell them that he’s too busy crying in his room to spend time with them. That he only hangs out with the lax bros because his roommate is one of them, and they don’t mind him sitting in the corner and saying nothing.

Get it together, Whiskey tells himself. Stop crying. Go to the campus counselor, maybe your depression medication needs to be adjusted. Go to the campus ministry meeting, maybe someone there will accept you. Do what you need to so you can hang out with the team, so they don’t hate you more than they do already.

He makes an effort to be at the Haus more, but it’s horrible. Bitty mothers him, which only makes him miss his own mother more. There should be fresh tortillas coming from the kitchen, not pies. Ransom and Holster interrogate him; Dex and Nursey argue; Whiskey shrinks away.

Never has Whiskey been so surrounded by people but felt so alone.

It’s November when Tango finds him in the library, staring at his books, too exhausted and drained to study.

“Can I sit here?” Tango asks, bearing his own textbooks, and Whiskey can only manage a nod yes.

After twenty minutes, Tango looks between Whiskey and the pages he hasn’t touched once. “Todo bien?” he asks. “How can I help you?”

Whiskey feels his eyes well with tears. It’s the first time he’s heard Spanish spoken here. And it’s the first time anyone has asked out of concern how he’s doing.

Because everything isn’t good. But with Tango’s hand on his back, his face full of concern and support, Whiskey thinks that he might have his first friend at college.

He might have a chance at things getting better.

foxtrotdefencesquad:

Everyone in the Haus eventually get sick of Tango’s questions, so they give him a ouija board and tell him to ask the ghosts instead

Contrary to popular belief it actually works and before they know it Tango has solved seven of the ten weird shity mysteries™ of the Haus, as most of them involved Jenny and Mandy getting bored in some way or another

jewishtango:

tango is honestly the most effective at chirping on the team and he isn’t even trying?? but like anytime the other team screws up it’s “were you actually aiming for the goal?” or “who were you trying to pass to anyway?” or just “did you do that on purpose or…??”

once he asked one of the opposing d-men “what position do you play?” mid-game and the dude just. lost it.
