The mum is panicked. She knows how to handle a crying child but doesn’t know how to handle a crying top hero. Everyone in line is taking photos. Deku and the kid are hugging like it’s the end of the world
honestly what cracks me up about the latest mha ep is the fact Deku was apparently watching Bakugou and Kirishima closely enough to know Bakugou Actually Likes Him, a fact Kirishima himself did not actually seem to be fully aware of
I know the answer for WHY Deku knew this is he’s emotionally perceptive and it was very noticable to someone who’s grown up with Bakugou even if you weren’t paying too much attention
but his whole breakdown of them was so specific and passionate and detailed- SINCE THE BEGINNING OF SCHOOL YOUR RELATIONSHIP HAD BEEN SLOWLY BUILDING-that the idea he’s been tracking this development with intense interest is really funny to me and honestly not too out of character.
he saw this unfolding and was SO FASCINATED to see Bakugou actually liking somebody this much, like it was this PHENOMENON he couldn’t help be riveted by both as someone who never thought this day would come and from a scholarly nerd perspective. he even took notes on their profiles in his nerd notebook. It’s something so bizarre and at odds with everything he’s known about this kid for ten years he simply must document it and attempt to understand it.
log date 847: they went on multiple study dates and Kirishima came back from them not only alive but completely unharmed. WHAT IS GOING ON . what is his secret. Must keep an eye on future developments.
He’s also got a personal stake in this because “MAYBE IF KACCHAN DATES SOMEONE NICE HE’LL CALM THE FUCK DOWN AND STOP FREAKING OUT AT ME SO MUCH. MAYBE THIS WAS THE SOLUTION ALL ALONG. I’VE HEARD IT CAN HAPPEN”.
he has hopes. he has dreams. he has a relationship chart for them and it’s a little weird.
i’m sitting here trying to figure out an explanation for todoroki divulging all of his trauma, all of his deepest secrets, his whole goddamn tragic backstory to midoriya with literally no prompting whatsoever??????
did they ever actually have a conversation before todoroki just revealed his entire life story?? genuinely the only explanation i can come up w is that todoroki went “wow, midoriya seems like such a kind & friendly person. i’d like to get to know him.” except our boy has 0 social skills & has probably never had a friend before so he goes “friends tell each other secrets, right? vulnerability is the key to intimacy, right?” but he is so goddamn clueless that he doesn’t understand that you can do that incrementally so he just……. spills his whole tragic backstory in one go.
there are only two other explanations i’ve come up w. 1 – todoroki has just been looking for someone to tell this to for years & midoriya just has one of those faces that makes you want to spill your darkest secrets so he just locks on to him and goes for it. and, of course, explanation 2, which is simply “dumb and gay”
you know that thing in krbk fics and arts where kiri smiles and baku goes doki, I love that, that’s a great concept
what I love more tho is the idea of bakugou’s heart doing backflips when kiri makes this
sorta faces, Kirishima going *inner shark intensifies* and Bakugou’s mind immediately answering fuck fuck shit fuck goDDAMNIT HOLY F U CK, that’s a good concept, a great concept I should play with that concept more
