Star-struck Interviewer: “You must miss the good old days.”
Steve Rogers: “I grew up in a tenement slum. Rats, lice, bedbugs, one shared bathroom per floor with a bucket of water to flush, cast iron coal-burning stove for cooking and heat. Oh, and coal deliveries – and milk deliveries, if you could get it – were by horse-drawn cart. One summer I saw a workhorse collapse in the heat, and the driver started beating it with a stick to make it get up. We threw bricks at the guy until he ran away. Me and Bucky and our friends used to steal potatoes or apples from the shops. We’d stick them in tin cans with some hot ashes, tie the cans to some twine, and then swing ‘em around as long as we could to get the ashes really hot. Then we’d eat the potato. And there were the block fights. You don’t know what a block fight was? That’s when the Irish or German kids who lived on one block and the Jewish or Russian kids who lived on the next block would all get together into one big mob of ethnic violence and beat the crap out of each other. One time I tore a post out of a fence and used it on a Dutch kid who’d called Bucky a Mick. Smacked him in the head with the nails.”
It’s 5 in the morning and I have a FANTASTIC story about how bad I made this one guy rage quit our DnD session tonight, all because he didn’t want to do a character interaction and he just wanted me to HAND HIM THE ANSWERS about my character’s backstory. I was in no way being malevolent about it, all i wanted to do was play a role-playing game by – oh, you know – ROLE-PLAYING – and he got SO UPSET you guys and I’m so fucking salty lmao
but it’s 5 AM so I’m going to tell this story when I wake up tomorrow
So before I get to the climax of this story I think I’m going to break down the escalation and the context into bullet points, because he’s been so fucking annoyed with everything that I do even though it was all legal lmao. It’s a long story so i’ll put it under a read more but it’s worth every second bc this guy can be extremely obnoxious and i’m not sorry at all for what i did.
The point is not to win. The point is to do the right thing. The point is to try and maybe we win. The point is that not trying is guaranteed failure.
The point is doing our best to make the world better for ourselves. It’s not about victory, it’s about effort.
So you take a breath, you grieve your losses, and you don’t give up. Because we’re all in this together and the very least we can do for the least among us is to say we tried.
Real failure is when they convince you to give up.
Todoroki Shouto’s Witch King classpath is only accessible through the hidden third path of the Exiled Prince Story Quest. It is the only promotion that allows Todoroki to use both fire and ice magic (his King and Witch classes can only perform fire or ice, respectively). The Witch King path requires the Hero to fail the Kingdom coup, break out of prison to rescue Todoroki’s ice witch mother from a live volcano, and restart the revolution to fight a more powerful Hellflame King. If the Hero succeeds and if the Hero and Todoroki become romantically involved, Todoroki will give the Hero the Blessing of the Witch King, imbuing the One for All blade with both ice and fire damage and resistance.
Todoroki then leave the party as per scripted, but will rejoin earlier than normal, in the middle of Act 4, during the Hero Killer boss fight. Completing the Witch King story line also unlocks Todoroki’s Plus Ultra ending as well as a touching Go Beyond epilogue if the Hero and Todoroki remain together through endgame.
im replaying mass effect 2 as a more renegade shepard vanguard
bc punching things is fun
and also, bc i disagree w the major “renegade” decisions (like giving the dude on freedoms progress to cerberus) i wont be going full renegade – just renegade dialogue paths mostly. so i wont take shit from anyone and itll be great
(lets see if i can actually do this lmao)
the vanguard thing is bc punching and then shooting a dude to kill them a certain number of times is an achievement and its literally the last one i need besides the “got literally every achievement” achievement and then ill have every achievement in me2
