So many teams were stirring, sparking intrigue;

The announcements were made on social media with care,

In hopes that Sir Stanley soon would be theirs;

The fans were keeping track of the news,

Hoping their teams’ season won’t be a snooze;

Players donned their colors, both old and new,

With lots of expectations to live up to;

When on the Twitter feeds there arose such a clatter,

We sprang to our phones to see what was the matter;

Opening the app, we saw with surprise,

Some teams making moves, going on the rise;

The chatter online of a brand new trade,

Made Sens fans wonder if their loyalties were mislaid;

Because what did they see when they checked on the news,

But a farewell to Karlsson, and hello to the blues;

Sharks fans, however, knew they had won,

With Karlsson and Burns they were going to stun;

More rapid than eagles more teams’ news came,

They were naming new captains, and called them by name:

Now Williams will be the new captain in Raleigh,

And OEL for the Yotes makes everyone jolly;

These men will wear their new letters with pride,
