Fuck it, I can do it!

my dad’s worst parenting habit was telling me “don’t try, just do it” which inevitably made me freeze the fuck up

my high school swim coach gave me the opposite advice, “just jump in there and see how far you get,” and it kind of saved my life about a million times even to this day

like maybe you succeed, maybe you don’t even finish, but either way you got some experience points and eventually you will level up even from failing a lot
